I'm Tamara, the founder of Vocal Essence. And I'm excited to be here!
Vocal Essence was started in 2018, but though the business is young, it has been quite a journey getting to this point. Throughout my life, I have loved singing, and learning about the mechanisms involved in the voice have propelled me into teaching it! I love experimenting with my instrument and I love talking about it!
Recently, I discovered that there was so much more to my voice than I realised. Growing up, I had always thought of my voice as an abstract object. Most techniques were based on visualisation, and not about the physiological adjustments I could make. As singers, our larynx or "voice box" is always changing, developing as we get older, and as our overall health develops, the source of the instrument that we can't even see is constantly in flux. This is why understanding the way your voice operates will assist you greatly in singing safely, and will open your vocal horizons to many genres you never thought were possible!
